And the Caps Lock was on..
I'm feeling quite musical today. May I recommend the following:
Yes - Owner of a Lonely Heart
Willie Nelson - On the Road Again
Sahara Hot Hights - On Top of Your World
More to come. Fantastic day for thought, it has been.
One of my favorite things to do is contemplate others' focus/justification for their existence; only to realize that, most desire a point of comfortable stasis. Somewhere in their lifeline, most people arrive at a station. Here, they find a comfortable "couch", if you will, and they'll never long for anything else. The years soon meld together, and their entire life experience and record of knowledge becomes a very limited resource; often causing a certain level of ignorance, through lack of update. Though this 'stasis' happens at different ages and for many different reasons, ultimately most will attach themselves with so many 'anchors' that they'll no longer move forward.
I have much, much more to broadcast on the above, but the train of thought was interrupted by a bathroom break, so I'll have to save it for next time. The above thought session has always been in progress, though it was peaked by this town I currently reside in, and its people. As I look around myself and absorb the experiences of those I work with, shop with, buy beer with, and live with, the mind is sparked. The food for thought is presented even in this house. My parents, after all, through circumstances, have brought me here.
I'm not crying, but it does make me sad to see this type of inactivity. I suppose the stable are required to produce those who will venture onward and progress. At least that's how I remember it. All it took was a look at how some were born, raised, and promised bright futures, grew older only to die. They, having never ventured forth to experience the unknown, were unfortunate I suppose. I do not pity them though. Because, as humans we must make for ourselves what we do not have. And, if some do not want to have, they will go without, never realizing the benefits and/or pitfalls of the unknown.
To sum things up: Brownwood sucks.
Anyways, I'm gonna work on getting drunk. You guys fill me in.
